Club Newsletter January 2024

It may be cold and wet with the odd sprinkling of snow, but things at the club don’t go into hibernation.

So welcome to the clubs first newsletter that sets out what we have in the kitbag for 2024.

With the adult fixtures now out and the colts not far behind we look forward to the sound of leather on willow once again. Plenty of opportunities across all our sides to get involved and enjoy some cricket this summer.

Prior to those joyous days there is work to be done in the clubhouse. The time has come for a complete rewiring of the electrics and this will kick off in March. As I’m sure you will appreciate this is an important but costly job to undertake. Therefore we have taken the decision to set up a crowdfunding page to help with the proceeds for this. Watch this space for when the page goes live. If you are able to give anything to support this worthwhile cause then this would be greatly appreciated to ensure we have a safe and future-proofed environment for all of us to enjoy.

“What else?” I hear you call from the bowlers end…

You may have also noticed you might be reading this on our shiny new website, which will grow and evolve over the year, but please take a look around and let us have any feedback on what else you might like to see.

And on the topic of going digital we will be far more active on social media this year to help keep you abreast of the latest news - so please follow, like, share and join in the conversation.

Sponsorship banner

We have a raft of sponsorship opportunities available ranging from match balls to your logo proudly donning the players shirts. Please take a look and share with friends and colleagues our new sponsorship brochure.

We also plan to use Spond this year - the app to make it easy to say when you are available and see the diary of social events coming up for the year. So install and sign up here

For the adults it’s soon time to stop knitting and get netting. From Thursday February 8th we will be at the Rochester Maths school from 8:30pm for 9 weeks to start honing our skills again and getting those arms turning - we will have 4 nets for an hour and a half, so come along and get season ready!

Watch this space for an update on the junior coaching coming soon.

And finally for today’s news - join our ‘100 Club’ and be in the monthly draw and start winning even before a ball is bowled. Read all about this here

We look forward to a great season ahead and always welcome new and old members and those from the local community to come and enjoy, support and help out at the warm and friendly club that we are.
