Another season comes to an end...

The square and ground gets put to bed, signifying another season coming to an end.

But what a season it was starting off with a freshly rewired clubhouse, a group of wonderful helpers getting the club up to scratch and match ready, training started and new sponsors blazing across the new kits and clubhouse signage.

With 78 games played across the junior and adult sections we saw some great performances, excellent teamwork and some classic collapses. Not least forgetting the hospital trips!

Winning Ways for Ones

It's with pleasure to write of the 1st XI teams league win making it back-to-back victories two seasons on the trot furthermore Ian Hayward finishing top of the league batters and very nearly top of wicket takers too, but a great team effort across the season to secure victory with a game in hand and they look forward to division 6 next year. Onwards and upwards!

1st XI

Time for Twos

Sticking with the adults for the moment the 2nd XI Saturday league team came in a respectable 6th place, again with some good performances, good wins and a significant number of runs scored by Andy Bunker and wickets being a plenty for Anoop Veliyambra.

League on a Sunday - great to see it back

This season we also saw a return to the Sunday league where we fielded some good sides and ending up 5th in the Kent Village Cricket League where we saw Ashiq Asha Baburajan and Lijo Jacob take a good number of wickets and Jesuit Simon and Sandeep Parambil scoring good runs.

Building blocks

The Sunday development team allowed for some of our younger players to experience the longer game and get some additional overs with both the bat and the ball. It was also a great opportunity for families to play together including the Connop’s, Moriarty's, Gajjar’s and Herridge’s bringing a great community to the club. This also allowed games for those who prefer friendly cricket and something to grow next year.

The children are our future, treat them well....

Our super keen juniors from across under 11s, 13s and 15s had plenty of cricket too. In our new Blue Bells Catering sponsored Azure kit not only did we look the part we played some great cricket.

The current under 11’s playing hardball pairs for the first time and finishing 4th in their league and getting to the semis of the cup.

Under 11s

Our now well-seasoned Under 13's came runners up in their league and reached the quarters in the cup, they played well as a team and dominated in several games with both the bat and the ball. Pleasingly there was a noticeable improvement in the catching department too - as we all know ‘Catches Win Matches’.

under13s

Under13s

The Under 15’s had their first win this year after a two-season drought which is a real sign of improvement and commitment from these young players - onwards and upwards as many of them become our Under 17’s.

Keeping it Social!

Outside of the cricket there were some well organised and well attended social events from quiz nights, fun days, bingo, poker, barbecues, darts and all rounded off with a great presentation evening that we just about got through before the heavens opened. A huge thank you to all of those who attended and a special thanks to the organisers. These events make a real difference to the club and local community and we're already looking forward to more next year.

FORE!

As players now swap bats and pads for hockey sticks and football boots, we as a club also like to get out on the golf course with our next outing on the 13th October to West Malling - do let us know if you are ever interested in joining the HBBH Golf Society.

Get your name in lights

Well maybe not lights, but don’t forget there are plenty of opportunities to sponsor the club, so spread the word and share our sponsorship brochure.

Stay in Touch

Although it is the end of the season we still have the AGM coming up, so stay in touch on our socials and WhatsApp groups.
